Lexi

Lexi loves teaching at Whiskers & Wine because it combines two of her favorite things…yoga and cats! Lexi has been teaching vinyasa yoga for the past 12 years and has been a cat lover since she adopted her first cat at age 3.

Lexi began her yoga practice while in college and completed her 200-hour yoga training at Bird Rock Yoga in 2012. Lexi has taught a variety of yoga and fitness styles, including vinyasa, yoga sculpt, power flow, yoga barre, and  Lagree fitness. At Whiskers & Wine, Lexi’s vinyasa classes focus on both strength and relaxation with dynamic flows followed by more restorative stretches.

When she is not teaching yoga, Lexi works as a Procurement Specialist at Solar Turbines and enjoys hiking, camping, and reading. She lives in Clairemont with her husband, Miguel, and their two cats, Snickers and Shadow. 🐱🐱

Nichole

I'm a native San Diegan who was adopted by our Siamese cat Blu just over four years ago. When I'm not teaching, I'm finding peace somewhere in the quiet desert.

I strongly believe that yoga can change people's lives because I have experienced this in my life and feel that it's my path to pay it forward. My style of teaching is based on bringing breath and movement into balance with one another.

I am trained in the style of Vinyasa Flow but have found a true love for the slowing down of Hatha; my classes are a blend of challenging postures, deep breaths, and stretches. I strive to teach a full practice that engages the mind, body, and breath in each of my classes.

My goal in teaching is to know that my fellow practitioners end their practice feeling fulfilled and engaged. It is very important to me that each student feels that they have honored and listened to their bodies while moving through their practice. I embrace the idea that Yoga, no matter what your style or experience, is always a continuing practice.

Jen

Jen started her yoga journey in 2007. She remembers after that first class feeling like she went to the gym, therapy, and the spa all at once! She was hooked. But it wasn't until 2016 after losing her husband to suicide, that she truly understood the amazing healing powers of breath work, yoga, and sound healing. This led Jen to dive deeper into her own healing journey and yoga practice.

Jen is registered with yoga alliance and holds certificates in 200 hour Vinyasa, kids and teen yoga, sound practitioner, Yin yoga and level 2 Reiki. Jen loves to incorporate sound healing into every one of her classes. She knows firsthand the true healing powers and wants to share it with others in hopes to help with their journeys.

When not practicing, Jen enjoys spending her days at the beach with her three sons and doing healthy healing activities together as a family!

Yin yoga is a slow and meditative style that is composed of seated and reclined poses. This unique style focuses on targeting the connective tissues (bones, joints, ligaments and fascia.)

The vibrations of the instruments harmonize with the physical, emotional, and energetic bodies, releasing dis-harmony and promoting stress-reduction, deeper relaxation, and an overall sense of well being.
